Disappointed February 1, 2010 Lj Anderson (Little Rock) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm disappointed in this unit. It is heavy. It is bulky. It is difficult to try to hook-up and use the antenna. And the coup de grace is the lousy remote. I've used the unit for a grand total of 6 hours. During that time I've have to change the remote battery four times (and CR2025 are neither easy to get nor cheap near my location) just to get the remote and the TV to function together. I tried to return to Amazon and was told I'd have to have all of the original packaging (sorry, it was tossed after Christmas). I contacted the warranty folks and they said the remote wasn't covered. I replied that how do they know for sure it is the remote, maybe there is a receiver problem that drains the battery trying to link together and was told that wasn't possible and got hung up on.
So, heavy, bulky, difficult hook-up, bad remote, lousy customer service. Now I'm trying to figure out why I rated it so high...
I guess because in manual control mode, once set-up, once you find the right place for the antenna to pick-up, the picture is good.
But I sure miss the old analog pocket TV's that were so easy to handle because at least this digital unit is not. Thanks FCC!
viore great for the money! PLC7V95 7-INCH February 1, 2010 B. Stevenson (usa) great little tv, good picture, good sound, sounds great with headphones! like it so much, bought two, great gifts.and the bag is an extra bounus.built in stand in a nice feature,ah little flimsey but works well.comes with a remote that works well, and the card slot works great, right out of your camera, to see you pictures on the tv screen. love it! hope you injoy it as much as me & family do!
Viore Handheld LCD TV January 30, 2010 GERLYN MCDONALD (Fort Worth) So far so good. This was a Christmas present to a 92-year-old lady who likes to take her tv with her when she travels. Of course HD technology and reception is lousy if one is not in a metropolis, but the tv does a good job catching what it can. The color is good and so is the sound. It is simple to use. I would recommend it.
Great Portable TV!!!!!!!!!! January 20, 2010 C. F. Rigby (Venice Island, Florida) Really people, this is an easy TV use. Didn't even need the manual. Just plug it in, attach the antenna, turn on and go immediately to menu and set it to AIR and autoscan!! Depending on where I place the antenna (extend it to fullest), I never get less than 4 stations with the included antenna (although it's not a great antenna)!!
Just read all the reviews --- I followed what they said and adjusted the audio bass more, picture quality to my taste and I couldn't be happier!!
You've got to remember what this little guy costs and for what you pay - you get quite a TV.
Now if you don't get any air stations - don't buy this and you can check online to see if you'll get any reception in your area. I am in a second floor apartment and the view is over the trees with windows facing the direction I need to pick up stations.
The only thing I suggest is that if aren't going to hook this up to cable - get a better indoor antenna!!!!!!! You'll be much happier!!
Of course, buying from Amazon - the shipping was awesome and arrived before the scheduled time!!!! Thank you Amazon
Nice little TV January 12, 2010 K. Blair 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, Viore tech/customer support is beyond worthless. They really need to work on that. If you can't get the PLC7V95 working from the menus or instructions, then by all means send it back to Amazon or [...] or whatever. Don't waste your time with tech support! Having said that, this little guy is actually a great little TV. The biggest complaint seems to be "no signal". If you can't get a picture with the included antenna try the [...] website and click "Choose an antenna". Then enter your information. They will provide the compass headings from your location for the strongest stations in your area. For example, the five strongest stations in my area have a compass heading of 185 degrees from my house (that's almost directly due south). When I put that little stub antenna in a southerly window, presto...great reception.
Also, apparently a number of people thought their unit was a refurb because it looked scratched. It does, in fact, look scratched when it comes out of the box. Just peel off the film and it will be shiny new. But, if you do get a refurb for some reason...send it back and don't waste your time with tech support.
